Financial discipline can be tough. Not because you don’t know right from wrong, but with all the temptation out there, who can resist falling into the trap of instant gratification that money can by…temporarily?

Of course it’s all fun and games until it’s payback time (if you’ve been spending someone else’s money), or until you wake up to the horrendous realisation, sometime in the not so distant future, that you will possibly only be able to retire comfortably for a month.

Depending on how you use it, money can be a blessing or  a curse. The great thing however, is you’re in total control of whether you use it to your benefit or detriment. When it comes to money, you’re either in control or being controlled. The latter, usually resulting from a lack of discipline.

Resisting the temptation to spend can be tough, and that is why we’ve put together a few quotes to help inspire you on your journey to financial discipline.

“A simple fact that is hard to learn is that the time to save money is when you have some.” – Joe Moore

“Never spend your money before you have earned it.” – Thomas Jefferson

“It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you and how many generations you keep it for.” – Robert Kiyosaki

“Every time you borrow money, you’re robbing your future self.” – Nathan W. Morris

“When buying shares, ask yourself if you’d buy the whole comapny.” – Rene Rivkin
